A son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and U.S. Army veteran, he was an active member of Calvary Church of the Pacific, a long-time St. Francis Hospice volunteer, an avid UH Rainbows baseball and wahine volleyball fan, and a former manager at Honolulu Roofing Company until his retirement.
Yasu's children sincerely want to thank everyone - friends, family, neighbors, and the local community - for sharing and enriching his long and active life.
He is survived by siblings Janet Sakamoto, Hideko Tanaka, Andrew Fujisaki (wife Nancy), Catherine Hironaka (of Maui, husband Masami), and Pearl Takasane (husband Stanley); sister-in-law Toshiko Fujisaki; children Alton Fujisaki (wife Apryle), Jared Fujisaki (wife Alicia Tanaka), David Fujisaki, and Jill Fujisaki (husband Robert Cohen); grandchildren Nathan and Lynette Sialana, Lauren and Nicole Fujisaki, Brad Fujisaki, and Oliver Cohen; great-grand- children Carter Dunn, Layton Sialana, Kianna and Maika Fujisaki.
Yasu will be laid to rest at Punchbowl National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific in a private service.
