Maria Agustin Bueno, 84, passed away into the loving arms of the Lord on September 23, 2020. She was born in Laoag, Ilocos Norte, Philippines and graduated from St. Williams College with a degree in Secretarial Science as well as Bachelor of Science degree in Commerce/Accounting. Mrs. Bueno came to Hawaii where she built a blessed life with her husband, Roland Al. Bueno, Sr. Mrs. Bueno was a valued employee with the former Tai Hing Produce Co., where she kept their books and records, eventually retiring after 32 years as a controller.She also was a hugely successful Avon representative, winning many sales accolades in her district, and Reliv distributor, achieving the rank of Master Affiliate and helping many gain good health. She spent many weekends as a vendor at the swap meet, shrewdly negotiating sales of her products and making friends with many visitors. Mrs. Bueno was an avid gardener, and her garden of orchids, papaya trees, avocado trees, starfruit trees, chico trees and marungay trees were the talk of the neighborhood. She contributed greatly to her parish, St. John the Baptist in Kalihi, where she was a eucharistic minister.
She will be deeply missed by her son, Roland Bueno, Jr.; daughter, Marianne Bueno Olson and her husband, Jim Olson; grandchildren Mia Olson, Nick Olson, and Justine Olson; and many relatives and friends. She will be interred at Valley of the Temples Memorial Park, private family services only due to covid restrictions.
Memorial Mass will be at St. John the Baptist Church on Fri. 11/20/20, 10am - please contact Roland Jr. at 808-782-6750 to register (max 50 attendants, masked and distanced).
