FAMILY PLACED OBITUARY

William Lelenieha Kapaku, Sr.
William Lelenieha Kapaku, Sr. 92, of Kailua Kona and formerly of Nanakuli, Oahu, passed away peacefully at his home on October 18, 2020. Born February 18, 1928 in Makawao, Maui, he was the son of John David and Annie Kapaku of Honokohau Valley, Maui.
A World War II and Korean War Veteran. He was a life member of the 5th RCT, KWVA, VFW, and Veterans of Hawaii (Old soldiers). A photo of him and his world famous Tank "Akuhead pupule" is on exhibit at the Army Museum in Fort DeRussy, Honolulu. He retired as a Ceramic Tile Setter (67 years) and was the founding member of IUBAC Local 1 Hawaii.
Popularly known as the "Ake man of Nanakuli", he was the best, beloved, loving and caring husband, dad, and papa; true and dear friend, awesome and cool "Uncle Bill". He is survived by the love of his life Virginia "Lehua" Kapaku of Kailua Kona. Da Kapaku's: Linda Joyce Kapaku Fletcher, Stacielee (Paul) Kapaku-Souza both of Kailua Kona, William L. (Chongwa) Kapaku, Jr. of Manassas, Virginia, Antoinette Kauilani (Alex) Kapaku Almeida of Panaewa, Hilo, David (Kenda) Kapaku of Honokohau, Maui; Stephanie Kaleiula (Ken) Kapaku Smith of Wailuku, Maui, Donald (Germaine) Kapaku of Nanakuli, Oahu;18 Grandchildren; 34 Great grandchildren. Nephews and Nieces; Hughes-Okada Ohana, Merck Ohana, Robert (Doris) Hara, Kathy Paishon. Furry Pets; Lele, Tani, Koke'e, and Lala.
