FAMILY PLACED OBITUARY

Dennis T.S. Chung
Dennis T.S. Chung Dennis served many years with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, attaining the title of Resident Engineer of the Honolulu District until 2010 and Chief of Construction for the San Francisco District from 2010 to 2013, before returning to Honolulu and retiring in 2014. During his career with the Corps, he not only worked locally here in Hawaii, but also completed overseas assignments in Germany and Japan. He also participated in hurricane relief work with FEMA in Guam and in the War on Terror in Iraq.

During his time at St. Louis high School and the University of Hawaii, his outgoing personality helped him make many lifelong friends, a trait that translated well into his career and success as an engineer and leader in his field. In college, he joined the Tu Chiang Sheh fraternity, which gave him the opportunity to meet Clarice, a member of the Te Chih Sheh sorority. They married in 1974, traveled the world extensively together, and made numerous friends before Clarice passed away after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

Dennis was the oldest of four children born in Honolulu to Edward and Amy Chung. He is survived by his brother, Steven and wife Evelyn, and their two children, Chanelle and Tiffany; and by his sister, Barbara and her husband, Edmund, and their two children, Jessica and Juliana. Dennis is also survived by Lisa, Wife of his brother Harrison, who passed away last year, and their two children, Ashlee and Bryce.

A private service was held on November 25, 2020 at Diamond Head Memorial Park. The family appreciates the kind words and loving support they have received from all of Dennis's friends and relatives.
