Henry was born to Masayoshi and Umeno Miyamoto in Wahiawa, Kauai on July 23, 1930. He attended McKinley High School in Honolulu and then served in the Army during the Korean War earning an Honorable Discharge in February of 1955. He left the Islands to study at the University of Colorado, Greeley where he received a B.S. degree in Business Administration. While in Colorado he met his future wife, Nancy Shimomura, and then moved to Los Angeles where Nancy joined him in 1958. Settling down in Pasadena, Henry worked for the Jet Propulsion Laboratory during the historic Apollo 11 landing on the moon and later joined the Small Business Administration as a Subcontractor Specialist before his retirement.
He is survived by his wife Nancy, his sister Nancy Masuno of Honolulu, his daughter Stacey Miyamoto and granddaughter Sophia Bueshel of NYC.
A Private Service and Life Celebration with his extended family will be held in Honolulu, Hawaii in 2021.
