Long-time Mo'ili'ili businessman Harry Haruso Kunimune peacefully passed away on October 30, 2020. Mr. Kunimune was a graduate of St. Louis High School. He received his baccalaureate degree from the University of California at Berkley and his master's degree from the University of Pittsburg. Harry served in the US Army. We affectionately called dad, "Smiling Joe" because he never would smile for pictures. Under his gruff exterior, lived a man who loved to be around people. The many folks who got to know him saw through his stoic stare and were embraced by his aloha spirit.
Harry is survived by his loving wife, Pauline; children: Mark, Kurt, and Lea (Kaniala) Kanaka'ole; grandchildren: Noah, Kuha'apono, Shae, Jena, Justin, and Mari; great grandchildren, Izabella and Dominik.
The family will hold a Celebration of Life in the future, when gatherings of large groups of people is once again safe. Thank you everyone for your condolences, support, well wishes and prayers. Please, no donations.
