It is with great sadness that the family of Roy Patrick Jardine, 77, of Hilo, Hawaii, announces his unexpected passing after suffering a heart attack on November 15, 2020.Roy graduated from Hilo High School in 1961. His career included Pan Am, Hawaii Stevedores, Inc. and the ILWU Local 142 as a business agent, currently he was a member of the ILWU Memorial Association and President of the Kona ILWU Pensioners Club.
He loved playing softball and even had his own team, the "RJ Hammers". He was an avid fan of baseball and his favorite team was the Yankees. He took pleasure in perusing classic cars over the internet, car shows and even attended Hot August Nights several times. He loved his family and friends deeply and everyone knew they could count on him for his support and love.
He will lovingly be remembered by his wife Dorothy, his daughters Leah Ann Jardine of Los Angeles and Dori Lynn Jardine-Noyes (Kawika) of Honolulu. He has three grandchildren Kiana Pilkvist Manuel (Chris) of Las Vegas, Chien Jardine-Winter and Zyon Jardine-Noyes both of Honolulu. He is also survived by his brother Manuel Jardine of Hilo.
We will honor him with a celebration of life at a later date with his favorite Hawaiian food and music.
