Carl Lasharn Jones
Carl Jones, 73, of Kailua, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Wednesday, November 25, 2020. He was born on November 24, 1947 in Seattle, Washington. Everyone that met him loved him. Carl was very approachable, laughed easily, and people found it comfortable to have a conversation with him. Carl graduated from the University of Michigan with a Masters Degree in Social Work in June 1972. He worked at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle for many years. In 1984 he moved to Hawaii and worked briefly at Catholic Charities and Pearl Harbor. He was best known for his work at Child and Family Services and the Family Service Center at the Kaneohe Marine Base. After 25 years at the Family Service Center he retired in 2014. He continued his work at Child and Family Services until November 12, 2020. Carl was a Christian and very active for 30 years at Anchor Church in Kaneohe. His first priority always was his family. He was known for stating the truth in all situations in a straightforward loving manner. His Legacy - His Family: Memrey (wife), His daughters Jessica (Scanlan) and Samantha (Matlock). His son's-in-law; Jason Scanlan and Paul Matlock. Last but not least his pride and joy - 6 grandchildren; Alema (19), Natalia (14), Milan (11), Gianna (9), Aviana (8), and Haven (6). Carl's parents (Ben and Mattie Jones) predeceased him in death. He has 3 surviving siblings Larry, Carmen and Penny Jones living in Seattle. "My Grace is Sufficient for You" - 2 Corinthians 12:9. His Family is grateful for the love and support from friends and family.
