Born January 3, 1932 in Sendai, Japan, died on Monday, November 23, 2020. She was married to Ryuzo Yanagimachi for 61 years. She served as a newscaster for KZOO radio for 4 years during the Vietnam war, and worked as a technician in electron microscopy for 25 years at the University of Hawaii. She has two brothers, Atsuo Ono and Takeo Ono, and one sister, Motoko Tsuruta, in Japan. She lived in Hawaii for 54 years.
