Sylvianne Len Yuen Nakamura
Sylvianne Len Yuen Ling Nakamura, 86, passed away peacefully on November 13th, 2020, in Honolulu. She graduated from Kaimuki High School and Honolulu Business School to later retire from Ala Moana Center (AMC) as the Promotions & Advertising Manager. She worked at AMC for over 40 years, from the Dillingham days to the General Growth era. The promotions and entertainment scheduled for Center Stage were her specialty and she took great pride in seeing local entertainers succeed. She is fondly remembered for coordinating well-loved events at AMC like Piper Production's Santa Land/Workshop and Hawaii State Scholastic Arts Exhibition. She was predeceased by her husband, Edward H. Nakamura and is survived by her daughters, Lee (Andrew) Miller, Stephanie (D. Christian) Derauf, and Tracy (Ward) Hakikawa; five grand- children, Kapua, Zoe, Hawea, Ayla, and Elia; and her siblings Leonard Ling D.D.S, Bernice Chung and Rose Park. Private family services will be held with internment at a later date when pandemic restrictions are lifted for travel and gathering.
The family expresses its heartfelt appreciation to the Arcadia Health Care staff and administration - mom's sassy one liners, mischievous antics and zest for chaos was a rubic challenge which staff addressed with good humor and inventive solutions. Thank you also to Navian Hawaii for your support and guidance on mom's final journey.
