WILLIAM EDMUND BERG
Bill Berg passed away on September 25, 2020 in Hilo, Hawaii, after a short battle with bone cancer. The second of 6 children born to Ed (Buzz) and Helen Berg, Bill grew up on Queen Anne Hill in Seattle and attended St. Anne School, Seattle Prep and Central Washington University. His early years were spent in Seattle and Alaska, working in fishing, boating and construction.In 2000, Bill moved to Honolulu and began a career in real estate and met his love, Christina. They retired to Keaau on the Big Island in 2017. Bill was a man of many interests and talents, a sailor, a craftsman, an athlete and a friend to many. An avid runner and marathoner, he ran the Dublin Marathon in 2010. Bill had a generous spirit and was always willing to help a friend. A dedicated volunteer, he travelled to disasters around the U.S. with the Red Cross, and assisted at golf tournaments and races in Hawaii. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Buzz and Helen, brother Pat, sister Katie and his partner, Christina Bell. He will be dearly missed by sisters, Barbara Demuri and Mary Snook, brother Michael Berg, several nieces and nephews and a large circle of devoted friends. Due to Covid, a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date in Hawaii. Memorial contributions may be made in Bill's name to the Red Cross or a charity of your choice.
