At 99, Mom passed away peacefully in Aiea, Hawaii. She was born to Koto and Uto Shiroma, second of seven children in Koloa, Kauai.She is predeceased by her husband, Yutaka, sister Mildred Taira, brothers George and David Shiroma.
Survived by son, Stephen Miyahira; daughters: Karen (Gary) Yanagida, Rachel (Alvin) Okihiro, Gail (Dexter) Teruya, Janice (Gary) Shintaku, and Elizabeth (Robert) Tokunaga; sisters Doris Momohara and Alice Chung; brother Edwin (Ida) Shiroma; ten grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; one great great grandson; 20 nieces and nephews.
Our family would like to thank Dr. Joey Kohatsu for his exceptional care of Mom these last few years. We also want to thank Mom's caregiver, Joyce Agustin, for her tender, loving care of Mom until the very end.
Mom was very active with her church family, until COVID. In lieu of flowers and monetary gifts, our family would appreciate donations made to Kalihi Union Church in Mom's name. A Celebration of Life is being planned for Mom's one year anniversary.
