Michael William Smith, 76, of Kamuela, formerly of Kailua, Oahu passed away at home on December 20, 2020 in Kamuela. He was born on April 29, 1944, in Honolulu, Hawaii. Michael worked as an aircraft mechanic for Pan Am and retired from the City & County of Honolulu.He was a graduate of The Kamehameha School for Boys, Class of 1962. A lifelong softball player, one of the major highlights is when his team, Ho'o Ikaika won the softball championship at the 2019 Huntsman World Senior Games.
He is survived by his loving spouse of 57 years, Aulani; sons: Mikela Smith of Honolulu, Hawaii; Keoni (Michael Hogan) of Incline Village, Nevada; Hauoli (Ray Lopez) Smith-Lopez of Palm Desert, California; daughter Kilikina (Jason) Mazik of Colorado Springs, Colorado; brother George Smith of Honolulu, Hawaii; sister Maxine (Patrick) Smith-Sullivan of Hawaii Kai, Hawaii and grandsons, Blair Nahale-Smith, Kaimana, Iokepa & Kahiau Souza.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
