David loved teaching. He was an avid volunteer mediator with the Mediation Centers of the Pacific and was a founding member of the Neighborhood Justice Center. He developed the basic mediation "diamond diagram" which is still used as an important educational tool in the training of mediators across Hawaii. He was known for his patience, humor and calm demeanor.
David was a talented potter and woodworker. He enjoyed playing tennis at the Beretania Tennis Club with the "old guys."
He moved to Cape Cod this spring. He will be buried in Orleans. Memorial contributions may be made to the Mediation Centers of the Pacific.
Our deepest condolences to the family and friends of the deceased
