Benjamin "Ben" Lico Abrantes, 93, formerly of Honolulu passed away on September 18, 2020 in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was born in the Philippines to Rosendo and Emiliana and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Macau Institute of Technology in the Philippines. He had numerous travels to foreign countries as a contractor to engineering firms, Metcalf & Eddy and retired from Ralph Parsons, Inc. in Pasadena, California. He worked diligently in Vietnam, Guam, American Samoa, Saudi Arabia, Hawaii and other cities in California and Florida. In 2013, Ben joined his daughter Alvina in Las Vegas where they both enjoyed retirement and road trips visiting friends and family on the west coast. A very educated and seasoned man, he self-taught Japanese, Italian, Spanish and languages that occupied his ever-working mind and daily practiced his Taichi teachings. Ben is preceded in death by his wife, Alice (Goles). He is survived by his son, Benjamin Caesar Abrantes; daughters, Anna (Jonathan) Li, Alvina Buquing, Leticia (Gary) Kurashige; grandsons, Matthew Kurashige, Jian Li and granddaughter Katrina Li.
