Eileen Shanahan
Eileen Shanahan, affectionately known as Lynne, passed peacefully away in Hawaii on December 8, 2020 after a long and bravely fought illness. Lynne was a dynamic woman, very active in her church, and had special interests supporting US Veterans, the USO and assisting young Japanese women coming to Hawaii to learn English. Lynne will be sadly missed by her family and by many close and dear friends in Hawaii and indeed throughout the world. Lynne was born in England on October 21, 1936. She is survived by her sister Barbara Bowey and brother Malcom Welch, both of England. Lynne was preceded in death by her husband Robert (Bob) Shanahan, her sister Pamela, and her brothers Anthony and Douglas. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Ft DeRussy Chapel Sunday, January 24, 2021 immediately following the 9:00am Sunday Worship Service. According to her wishes, Lynne's ashes will be placed in the Pacific Ocean at a later date. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to U.S. Vets, 91-1039 Shangrila St, Kapolei, HI 96707.
