FAMILY PLACED OBITUARY

MAY S. KINOSHITA
MAY S. KINOSHITA 84, of Kaneohe, Hawaii, passed away on September 29, 2020. She was born in Koolaupoko, Oahu, to the late Koji and Fujiko Matayoshi, the oldest daughter of eight children. May graduated from Castle High School and worked in the banking industry for almost 60 years. She retired from First Hawaiian Bank at the age of 83 with 49 years of service. May was an active member of Anchor Church in Kaneohe and Hui O Laulima.
She was very proud of her Okinawan heritage and where she came from. May grew up in Waiahole Valley where her family still farms today and took great pleasure in being the daughter of the "Sweet Lady of Waiahole." Many of her family and friends called her the "Mayor" of Kaneohe because she not only knew you, but your parents and grandparents. May enjoyed her travels to Japan, China, Europe, Canada, as well as numerous trips to Seattle to visit her daughter Sheila and family.
May is survived by her two daughters, Lisa (Robert) Flores and Sheila (Greg) Cottingham; 3 grandchildren: Evan, Brett, and Nicole; sisters: Sharon (Clinton) Takamori; Darlene (Daniel) Yoshizumi; Kathleen (Scott) Saito and brother Wayne Matayoshi. May was preceded in death by her husband James S. Kinoshita; brother George Matayoshi, sister Nancy Moritomo, and brother Harry Matayoshi.

Drive-by Celebration of Life: 9:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Saturday, January 30, 2021 at Hawaiian Memorial Park.
