Wayne L. Bailey was born in North Dakota during the Great Depression. He served during the Korean war and began flying when he returned to Seattle, Washington. He survived being a bush pilot in Alaska and came to Hawaii in 1968 and was hired by Hawaiian Air as an instructor. After 20 years with Hawaiian Air, Wayne had come up through the ranks and had been a copilot, a captain and chief pilot. He even spent time training pilots in Ghana, Africa. He was a good dad and friend.
