Joan Kamaile Kuna Gibbs died peacefully at home on December 25, 2020 at the age of 84.Joan is survived by her husband of 65 years, Homer L. Gibbs of Wahiawa, Hawaii. Their 4 children and their spouses, 11 grand- children, and 5 great-grand- children. Joan is also survived by a Brother and Sister.
Joan was born on September 24, 1936, to parents Basil and Kathleen Kuna. She was born and raised in Kailua, and moved to Wahiawa in 1955. She was a proud graduate from
Sacred Hearts Academy Class of 1954. Joan and Homer built a warm and loving home. Joan's passion for life was through her family and friends.
Joan Gibbs was active with her community, family and friends who was deeply involved in her faith at Our Lady of Sorrows. She enjoyed singing in the choir, traveling, her family, shopping and Jumble puzzles. Her family and friends will always remember her loving heart, radiant smile, beautiful heart and genuinely giving person.
Celebration of life was held on January 19, 2021 at Our Lady of Sorrows Church. She was laid to rest, in love, with family and music at Hawaii State Veterans Cemetery.
