After graduating from Farrington high school she became a seamstress for many decades. Throughout her life she enjoyed her family outings and activities, her pet dogs, sewing and crafts, bowling (246 high game), UH football and women's volleyball, sudoku, reading, and Japanese and Korean shows. Jewelry was a passion and QVC became her outlet.
Later in her life, she fell in love with her step grandson Kenny (Aylisha), and their children Aya, Kalyn, Konner and Kolton: and step-granddaughter Colleen (Garvin) and their children Tyler and Cameron.
She is survived by her son Clayton (Julie-Anna Bardon) and grandson Kellen; many in-laws, nieces and nephews and their respective family. She was preceded in death by husband "Hank" Akira, son Henry Jr., mother Sawano, father Kijiro, brothers Hisashi, Yasuyoshi, and Sawayoshi, sisters Toshiko (Fujimoto), and Fujie (Iwatani), and cousins Chieko and Satsuki Mizoguchi.
Private services will be held due to COVID. A 1 year memorial service is planned for 2022.
