FAMILY PLACED OBITUARY

DORIS TOKIE IKEDA AIMOTO
Passed peacefully in her sleep at her home at the Plaza at Punchbowl on December 31, 2020 at the age of 101 years old. Born in Captain Cook, Kona, Hawaii Island, she was the second eldest of six siblings. She moved to Oahu and met and married her husband of 57 years, Yoshito, with whom she had a son and daughter. Doris helped her husband start and run a mochi business and snack shop, Holau Mochi Factory, which remained open for 45 years. After closing shop in 2000, Doris remained independent, continuing to socialize with lifelong friends at Club 100 (100th Infantry Battalion clubhouse), participating in activities such as ballroom dancing, line dancing, and tai chi.

In 2014 when life became more challenging, Doris moved to the Plaza at Punchbowl, where she thrived with Plaza's daily activities and her interactions with residents and staff.

We would like to thank the wonderful staff of the Plaza at Punchbowl. Their support, encouragement and care embraced Doris in love and happiness in her final years.

Doris is survived by her two children, Alvin (Audrey), and Lois Nakagawa (John); sister-in-law, Margie Yuriko Ikeda; and many nieces and nephews. Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Yoshito; and her five siblings.

Private services held.
