78Mako met his wife Beatrice in Honolulu. They were happily married for 65 years, and together they raised two children, Cynthia and Dwight. He has two grand- sons, Matthew and Michael. Mako was a skillful carpenter who could build anything, including his own home. His passion for over thirty years was raising and breeding award-winning koi. Mako was a kind, generous man with a ready smile for everyone.
In keeping with his wishes, a private memorial service to honor and remember him was held on January 30, 2021 at Nuuanu Memorial Park.
