Roderick Yogi “Roddy”
Roderick Yogi 64, peacefully transitioned to Heaven on August 29, to live eternally with the peace of God that surpasses all understanding. His life changed dramatically when he encountered God's love, goodness, and mercy that endures forever. As a result of this, Rod chose to look at life through the eyes of thanksgiving.

Rod's love for the ocean began at an early age when his father, Ernie, taught him how to surf. Together with his brother and surfing partner, Terence, they endured the freezing water while paddling out before dawn to be in position to ride the first waves. Rod's drive for excellence solidified his perseverance as his teams won gold medals in hockey and canoe paddling.

The highlight in Rod's life was the birth of his son, Garrick. These precious experiences prepared him for a new adventure as a loving grandfather to Brady. Brady copied whatever Grandpa did, and together they would play in the swimming pool and jump in water puddles.

Rod passed away peacefully at home and was predeceased by his father, Ernest Yogi. He is survived by his mother, Hilda Yogi; wife, Andrea Yogi; son, Garrick Yogi; stepson, Grant Shishido; stepdaughter, Jaclyn (Chad) Sonobe; grandson, Brady Sonobe; brother, Terence (Christie) Yogi; nephews, Tyler and Christian Yogi, and niece, Kara (Carlos Mooney) Yogi. Rod's Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date.
