FAMILY PLACED OBITUARY

Ethel H. Taira

102, of Honolulu, passed away on January 25, 2021 in Honolulu. She was born in Waianae and spent much of her childhood in Aiea. She enjoyed being a Naris cosmetics consultant for many years prior to retirement and continued sewing and taking trips to Las Vegas well into her 90s.

She is survived by daughter Marilyn Terayama (Ronald); son-in-law David Arakawa, grandchildren Brian (Lucia) Terayama, Dana Arakawa, and Neal (Jordan) Arakawa, great-grandchildren Brooklyn and Peyton Terayama, Eleanor and Mary Arakawa, sisters Harriet Kuroda and Edna Takeshita, many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by husband, Masato Taira, and daughter, Nadine Arakawa.

The family would like to thank mom's caregivers of the past three years, Julie, Juliana, Ofelia and Shine, whose loving care, support and friendship allowed her to remain in and pass peacefully at home.

Private services will be held. Please no monetary gifts or flowers.
