VIOLET FUSAE SHIROMA
99, passed away peacefully at home on March 25, 2020. Violet worked for many years as a waitress at the Cannon Club on the slopes of Diamond Head and later as a hostess at the Hale Koa Hotel at Fort DeRussy in Waikiki. In retirement, she enjoyed traveling with her husband, tending to her garden and spending time with her beloved grandchildren and great- grandchildren. Attending the Kapahulu Senior Center, she achieved a major goal to learn tai chi and mastered it to eventually teach a class.
Violet was preceded in death by her husband James Seiki "Mappy" Shiroma and is survived by daughters Penelope "Penny" Shiroma and Theresa (Greg) Grajew; sons David (Susan) Shiroma and Paul (Vivian) Shiroma; grandchildren Melissa Kleeman, Michael and Sarah Shiroma; three great-grandchildren; and brother Noboru Kobashigawa of Pasadena, California.
