Betsy Taye MiyahiraBetsy Taye Miyahira, of Honolulu, passed peacefully at home, surrounded by love, on January 10, 2021, at the age of 93. A colorful, vibrant, energetic, loving mother, grandmother, aunty and friend to all who knew and loved her, Betsy worked various jobs during her lifetime and retired from the Kuakini Medical Center, radiology department in the mid 1980's. She was an active member of various community clubs and organizations-the Moanalua Seniors and Community of Christ church to name a few. She loved the Okinawan culture and was a member/sensei of the Paranku Club of Hawaii, Nakasone Dance Studio, Hawaii United Okinawan Association, Ginowan-Shi-Jin Kai and Gaza Yonagusuku Doshi Kai.

Betsy is pre-deceased by her husband: Robert Hiroichi Miyahira, parents: Seiko and Tsuru Asato, brother: Robert "Brick" Asato, sisters: Jane Sakima, Alice Maloney and Amy Maruyama.

She is survived by son: Robin (Lily) Miyahira, daughters: Gail Fuller and Doreen (George) Bartels, 6 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
