Darlaine was born Seattle, Washington to Clement Joseph Gerhard and Catharine Lillian Haas on August 4, 1935. Her family relocated to Honolulu, Hawaii in 1948. She graduated from Maryknoll High School, class of 1953. She worked as a Manager for Hawaiian Telephone for 10 years and in sales at Maui Beach Hotel for 5 years. She was involved in her church choir at St. John Vianney.
Darlaine is survived by son Daniel Anderson and wife Adele of Kailua, and granddaughters Erica Anderson of Kahului, Maui, and Alycia Rhodes and husband Jonathan of Fairfax, VT, great- granddaughter Elizabeth, great- grandson Cameron; son Craig Anderson and wife Deby of Las Vegas, NV; son Michael Anderson and wife Pamela of Nanakuli, granddaughter Catherine Orlans and husband Jason, great-grand- son Ka'imi, and grandson Ian Anderson and wife Meagan of Albuquerque, NM.
