72She is survived by her daughters Cheryl Kojima (Paul, d. 2014) and Debbie Lee Soon. (Kimberlay, d. 2015), grandchildren Cari Ann Naito (Craig), Matthew Hamada (Stacie), Sasha Suzuki (Lane), Daniel Lee Soon, Rachel Lee Soon, and Adam Lee Soon, and 3 great-grandsons.
Helen is an alumni of Mid Pacific Institute ('46). She attended the University of Hawaii where she received her BA, 5th year certificate, and Master's degree in Social Work. She was such a dedicated student that she gave her dissertation while pregnant! She was employed for 39 years at the Hawaii State Department of Human Services and retired as Program Development Administrator. A private service will be held on March 21, 2021 at Hosoi Garden Mortuary followed by Drive-thru Visitation from 4-5 p.m. No monetary gifts or flowers.
