Our beloved Dad, BA BA, and GUNG GUNG passed away unexpectedly a year ago on March 13, 2020 at age 87. "Holman" was born in Hong Kong. His early childhood during WWII and young adulthood in 1950's Communist China, shaped him into a self-sufficient & resourceful person. Wishing a better life for all, he emigrated his entire family to the best place in the USA … Oahu, Hawaii. (Maybe watching late night Hawaii FIVE-O had an influence as well).
Early emigrant life was hard. Holman eventually found his calling selling practical family household items at the Aloha Stadium Swap Meet, even being featured in Honolulu Magazine. His careful attention to customers' needs, plus friendly demeanor and generosity, made him many loyal and caring customers local and afar, including as far away as Canada and Utah. Hoi Ming was devoted to his wife, children, siblings, relatives, friends and country.
Survived by his wife So Kam Har; children: Jennifer Chang, Tarquin Kwok, Wendy Won, and Tarzen Kwok, and granddaughter Nicole Chang.
