77Mercy went to work for City Mill, was a Personnel Manager at Ala Moana Hotel, Employment Coordinator at St. Francis Medical and eventually was appointed by Mayor Frank Fasi to work for the City & county of Honolulu. She was a loyal, enthusiastic & respected employee for over 30 years. She worked for the Dept. of Customer Services & was Director of Honolulu City Lights, City Christmas Party & Satellite City Halls. Mercy was also recognized for her service to Aloha United Way, Food Bank & March of Dimes. She was set to retire on April 1st.
Everyone she worked with was touched by her sweetness, kindness & intelligence. Her word was 100%!
She was the love of her Husband Jeff's life. Her sweet voice & heartwarming smile will be missed by anyone who met her.
She passed away after a year long battle with cancer which she fought like a champion till the end.
She is survived by her Husband Jeffery S.; sons, Joshua (Erika) and Jayson (Kim); siblings, Lena Staton (Bill), Carol Crettella (Andrew), Stanley Escritor and Jason Escritor (Koleka); many cousins, nephews, nieces & several Hanai sons.
