His children & grandchildren were his passion. Going to dog shows, visiting vets at the Veteran Ctr., teaching his grandchildren to swim & attending school events were the memories he shared with his family. Bringing family & friends together at Christmas was important & for over 50 years, Jack mysteriously disappeared & would miss Santa Claus when he made a surprise visit at the family celebration! Jack was also into "flying" & spent countless hours breeding & racing pigeons, winning numerous racing cups. An avid waterman, Jack loved swimming & sailing. He patiently built model ships & created detailed versions of schooners & sailboats. His last hobby was to collect tshirts with humorous sayings that started conversations & made people smile.
On March 27, 2021, Jack passed away at Queens Hospital after spending a week visiting his favorite locations & bringing flowers for Jane on her birthday at Punchbowl. His patience, support, sense of humor & undying love & dedication for his family will be forever missed.
Jack is survived by son, John, hanai son & caregiver, Ainsley Halemanu, daughters Debbie "Debs" (Mitch) Dudoit, Jocelyn Ikeda (Gary) Kaneshiro, grandchildren - Kerensa Iraha Jimenez (Carlos), Chris (Mayumi) Iraha, Scott & Brooke Kaneshiro; great-granddaughters Kelia, Kaia & Keeli Jimenez, plus numerous nieces & nephews in Hawai'i & Tacoma, WA.
