FAMILY PLACED OBITUARY

Cissy Bobette Mililani Romero
Cissy Bobette Mililani Romero58, of Kailua, gained her Angel Wings on March 26, 2021 with Gary, her soulmate of 43 years, by her side. Born in Honolulu, a blessed third and youngest child to Howard and the late Bobbie Martinsen, Cissy was a sweet spirited, soulful tomboy with a deep love for animals. She was always strong, fun-loving, and pono. Cissy grew up in Kailua playing volleyball, softball, flag football, soccer, and taking dance classes. She worked at 3E Silkscreen with a bunch of great friends; beautifully sang and played the guitar; and created lovely works of all types of art, especially ceramics. Cissy spent her free time having fun in the sun at Sherwoods, Sandy's, Bellows, or on the North Shore. Cissy attended Kamehameha Schools for 13 years, graduating in 1980. Her Kamehameha BFFs are her bonus sisters. After attending school and working in Phoenix, AZ, Cissy and Gary returned home to Kailua to get married and start a family.

Cissy married Gary P. Romero at the Pacific Club in 1986 and raised three beautiful children in Gary's childhood home in Kailua; their forever home. Her family meant the world to her! Cissy was so grateful for, and proud of, her children and grandchildren (who called her Grammy.) While working (C&C of Honolulu, Corporation Council; The Carey School; Castle Medical Center; Hawaiian Airlines; The Beneficial Group), Cissy and Gary were actively involved in their children's lives (including AYSO soccer coach; Kaelepulu Fun Fair Chairperson; Class Parent, Kamehameha C/O 2005.)

Cissy loved to travel with her family. Her favorite destinations were Disneyland, Alaska (Cruise), Lana'i, and Las Vegas. Music filled the impeccable, yet warm, Romero home. With a never ending soundtrack, Cissy and Gary celebrated memorable moments with their family and friends (Halloween and New Year's Eve block parties!)

In addition to her lifelong love of animals, Cissy had a heart for children. Romero Keiki House opened its doors in 2010, and Aunty Cissy welcomed numerous 6 week to 4 year olds and their families into her 'ohana. Over the years, each child and their family remained special and dear. Romero Keiki House was in operation until December 2020.

CISSY IS DEARLY MISSED by her husband, Gary; children, Kristy, Kory (Ashley), Kasey (Kailani); grandchildren, Leia, Kolt, Karter; father, Howard Martinsen; brother, Nalei (Leslie) Martinsen; sister, Helen (Nathan) DeLuze; mother-in-law, Priscilla Romero; brother-in-laws, Alvin (Shawn) and Glenn (Lynette) Romero; aunties, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, grandnephews; Ipo (her canine baby), and Blackie and Boots (her feline babies). A private service will be held.

Mahalo Ke Akua for the blessing of Cissy's well-loved and well-lived life. We will joyously reunite in Heaven!
