FAMILY PLACED OBITUARY

Manumalo Va’aomala Ta’amu
79, passed away on May 16, 2021, surrounded by her loved ones. She is remembered as a strong, feisty, intelligent, generous and loving woman who made everyone she met better than they were before. She not only achieved her dreams, but helped her loved ones reach theirs. She is survived by her husband, Alexander T. Forsythe and two daughters, Talalupelele Makekau (Samuel) and Joan Bird. She has five grandchildren, Keenen Makekau, Kealakekua Makekau-Schmidt (Jonah), Keoni-Kordell Makekau (Hazel), Kyeesia Makekau (Zayne), and King Makekau. She also has three grand-furbabies, Kimo, Hana, and Moe. Her surviving siblings are Aioletuna Sunia (Fofo), Hannah Hoag (Val), Renee Bega (Maurice), Jane Kinney (Tom), and Balvino Guerrero (Bobbie). The funeral service will be on Monday, June 21, 2021 at the O'ahu Mortuary Cemetery (Nu'uanu). The private family viewing will be at 4:00 pm and the public service will begin at 4:30 pm. The burial services will be on Tuesday, June 22, 2021 at the Hawai'i State Veterans Cemetery (Kaneohe) at 10 am. Due to COVID-19 and travel limitations, the family will provide virtual access to the funeral to those who contact her granddaughter, Kyeesia prior to the services by emailing aigafirst2021@gmail.com.
