Sadako Okimoto
94, passed away peacefully on May 14, 2021. A Waialae girl, she grew up on her parents' chicken farm and was a graduate of Kaimuki High School. She spent her career as a secretary with the Department of Defense working both here and in Japan. She was a world traveler who enjoyed many tours to foreign lands with friends as well as countless trips to the ninth island with family. She was an avid reader who enjoyed opera, cooking, crafts and good meals with family and friends. Sadako was preceded in death by her parents Yutaka and Chiyoko Okimoto, and siblings Harold (Clara), Fred and Minnie. She is survived by siblings Thomas (Lillian) and Hideko Nagatoshi (Richard deceased). Affectionately known as Auntie S, she is also survived by her 7 nieces and nephews and 7 grand nieces and nephews. Private services held.
