Armond was a graduate of Punahou School, class of 1964 and attended University of Hawaii's School of Travel Industry Management. He was also a member of the US Marine Corps Reserve.
He settled into a career in hotel and restaurant management which began at La Ronde Restaurant, Ala Moana, where he gained invaluable experience which led to other jobs including Room Service Manager and Assistant Bar Manager, both at the Hilton Hawaiian Village; Head Maitre'd at the Bull and Bear, Waldorf Astoria, NYC; Manager, Hackfeld's Restaurant, Liberty House, Ala Moana; General Manager at David Paul's Diamond Head Grill, Colony Surf Hotel.
He is survived by his sisters Aileen Yoshida, Honolulu, Hi and Linda Vincent Steers and brother-in-law Stephen T. Steers, Boerne, Texas. Private services were held at Diamond Head Memorial Park.
