Donald grew up in Honolulu where he attended Farrington High School. After high school he served in the U.S. Army, and then attended the University of Hawai'i where he was a member of the men's basketball team. He later transferred to St. Louis University and graduated from its dental school.
After retiring from his successful dental practice of 46 years, he enjoyed traveling with his wife, spending time with his children and grandchildren, working on hydroponic gardening and playing golf and poker. His sense of humor and extremely generous spirit will be greatly missed.
A private service was held at the Newman Center Holy Spirit Parish.
