On Wednesday, June 9, 2021, Sandra Lee (Diekmann) Brown, loving wife and mother, passed away at the age of 79 in Honolulu, HI. Sandy was born on December 20, 1941, in Canton, OH, to Glenn and LaDyne (Smith) Diekmann. She received her bachelor's degree from Bowling Green State University in 1963 and served in the Peace Corps until 1966. She married Lawrence Alan Brown in Ankara, Turkey, 54 years ago.Sandy was predeceased by her parents and sister, Ladyne Rubright. She is survived by her husband, daughter Melissa (Brown) Goo, sister Cheryl Jacobs, grandchildren Anita (Goo) Palmer and Kenneth Allyn, and two great-grandchildren.
On Tuesday, July 20, 2021, a memorial service will be held at Central Union Church on S. Beretania Street at 6:30 pm, with visitation from 5:30 to 6:00 pm. Please observe COVID-19 safety protocol as required by church policy. In place of flowers, donations may be made in Sandy's name to the Straub Foundation designated to Cancer Care & Research.
