FAMILY PLACED OBITUARY

Vern Ikuo Tanaka
72, of Honolulu, passed away at home with his family by his side on May 30, 2020. He was born on December 12, 1947 to Albert and Mildred Tanaka of Manoa. A 1965 graduate of Roosevelt High School, attended Kapiolani Community College and University of Hawaii. Served in the U.S. Army, stationed overseas in Germany. He worked at Waimanalo Library before transferring to the Honolulu Police Dept. Training Division as an Audio Visual Production Specialist, retiring in 2009.

Survived by wife, Winifred, daughters, Lauren (Robert) Kepa, Sherry (Shaun) Tokunaga, grand- children, Brandt, Brayden, Brynn Kepa, Sheldon Tokunaga, brothers, Gerald (Emiko) and Wesley (Candice) Tanaka, sister Charlene (James) Ohta and sister-in-law, Betsy Tanaka.

Through his love for photography and video, it brought him joy for the opportunity to do video productions of special occasions for family and friends.

To our relatives and friends, our sincere gratitude for your generosity, phone calls, home visits, compassionate support and kindness extended to our family. A private one year memorial service was held on May 30, 2021.
