Walter Edgar Aymond, 75, of Hilo died June 25 at home in his sleep. Born in Lafayette, Louisiana, he came to Hawaii as a teenager and after earning his Masters degree, worked as a counselor & teacher. He was a gregarious man who loved adventure and learning. Walter loved life; he loved to eat, drink, and make merry. He loved the ocean and the beauty and Spirit of Nature. He loved to laugh and tell stories. He had communities of loving friends in Hilo, Windward Oahu and Florida. Survived by sisters, Barbara (Henry Holthaus) Aymond Alethea of Waimanalo, Ann (Bill) Hart of Seattle, Washington; brothers, John Aymond of Volcano, Michael (Leah) Aymond of Pensacola, Florida; nieces & nephews: Will Hart, Sarah Alethea, Zac Alethea, Andrea Hart; grand-nephews: Atlas, and Miguel, grand-niece Kaia Love.
