Kathleen was born on Boy's Day, May 5, 1950 in Kahuku, Oahu. The youngest of six children, Kathleen was very much a tomboy and played homerun, kickball and kick-the-bucket in her ocean view neighborhood of Kahuku.
Truly a Red Raider for life, Kathleen enjoyed all the social activies in Kahuku High and Elementary Schools, graduating with the KHS class of 1968, she attended many class and school reunions.
In her adult years, she worked in various clerical positions and often participated in company bowling and softball leagues. A social butterfly, Kathleen enjoyed musical concerts and had a love of dancing, expecially the electric slide, country line dancing, bon odori and hula.
In spite of being challenged with legal and medical issues, Kathleen managed to share her wonderful smile and spirit with all around her. She loved and was loved immensely.
Kathleen was predeceased by her parents, Augie and Susie and brother Andrew. She is survived by her daughter Andrea Lei-Midori (Esera); three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brothers Anthony (Evelyn) and John (Jane) Caneda; sisters Mary Gail (Robert) Bonifacio and Andrea Caneda Renaud; paternal Aunt Esmenia Velarde, and nieces, nephews and cousins from the Sarno and Caneda-Cabanilla clans.
Kathleen's Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, July 22, 2021 at Borthwick Mortuary. Visitation: 9:00 a.m.; Service: 10:30 a.m.
