FAMILY PLACED OBITUARY

Walter Jinshiro Taira
Walter Jinshiro Taira93, of Waipahu, passed away peacefully at his home on June 4, 2021. Born in 1927, in Honolulu, he was the third youngest of 12 children. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army from 1946-1949. Walter was a loving husband of 68 years and a dedicated father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was a man of honor at home, his work at Amfac in the Construction Materials department and the Cannon Club where he was a valet. He served many years in various organizations like the Gaza Yonagusuku Doshi Kai Okinawan club and in several bowling leagues. He also enjoyed going to Vegas, U.H. football games and going on walks with Yoshie. He was a very hard worker who sacrificed much to provide for his family. We shall surely miss how he blessed us all of these years.

He is survived by his wife, Yoshie; daughters, Kathryn (Mark) Kaneshiro, Gloria Sato and Wanda Iha; sons, Gerald (Esther) and Jason (Ann); four grand- children, two great-grandchildren and sister-in-law Peggy Taira.

Funeral and inurnment services at Hosoi Mortuary and City Memorial Park will be private. Services will be livestreamed on July 30, 2021 from 9:55 am at: https://view.oneroomstreaming.com/authorise.php?k=1623922287120667.
