Mildred "Millie" Yee Tong, 90, died in her sleep in Thousand Oaks, CA on May 19, 2021.She was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, the eldest of 5 children to Kwai Hing and Helen Chong Yee.
Millie graduated from Saint Francis High School and worked for 30+ years in the banking industry. In 1952 she married Bunny Yoke Bun Tong and they were blessed with 2 children, Terrence and Theresa.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her brother Roosevelt, sister Venus, and husband Bunny. She is survived by her son Terrence (Mary), grandchildren Peter, Matthew, Annamarie, Grace, Andrew and Bernadette, daughter Theresa and sisters Nora and Waldene.
Millie had an eclectic palate and loved reading mysteries. Her favorite TV shows included Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune; she also enjoyed Asian dramas and movies.
She had a warm, loving and hospitable heart and will be missed by many.
A memorial Mass will be held at Star of the Sea Church, 4470 Aliikoa Street, Honolulu, on Tuesday, August 10 at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at 2 p.m. at Hawaii State Veterans Cemetery, 45-349 Kamehameha Highway, Kaneohe where Millie will be placed to rest with her beloved husband Bunny.
