78, of Honolulu, departed on July 22, 2021. She was born and raised in Honolulu, graduating from Kaimuki High School and the University of Hawaii at Manoa. Kathy enjoyed singing, arts and crafts, travelling, sharing good food and spirits with friends and family, and spending time with her grandchildren. She always went above and beyond in taking care of others, with overflowing aloha and generosity for those she encountered. Kathy was dearly loved by her family, relatives, and many friends and colleagues she came to know over the years. She is survived by her husband Steve Takaki, son Kyle, daughters Stacey Teshima (Bryan Teshima) and Sherrie Takaki (Marc Hee), siblings Lester Nishime and Sybil Nishime-Domen, and grandchildren Asa and Asher Teshima, and Jameson and Jaiden Walker Hee. Private services to be held for immediate family. There will be a burial at Hawaiian Memorial Park Cemetery (45-425 Kamehameha Hwy, Kaneohe) on Aug 18 (Wed); the public is welcome to attend the service from 10-10:30am (visitation from 9:15-9:45).
