Age 66, of Waipahu, passed away on May 28, 2021 at Queen's West Hospital.Stephanie known to many as DeeDee was born on December 1st, 1954. She was the first born of 6 children. She attended Waipahu High School and graduated in 1972. A natural beauty, she did some modeling and had several jobs including lei greeter at the Honolulu Airport. Stephanie fell in love and married Robert Gregory Camara at the age of 19. Together they had 4 children, Cortney, Alisa, Robert Jr (who they called Greg Boy) and a son who the Lord took home at birth.
Stephanie went to real estate school but ultimately pursued a life as mother and wife full time. Though later in life she and her husband divorced, they kept a relationship of love and friendship all the years of her life. Stephanie found joy in the simple things, the beauty in almost any flower, the comfort of her pets and the love of her family. She was a beautiful, kind and soft hearted woman with a heart that loved our Lord Jesus Christ. We are comforted to know that she now spends her eternity in His presence and glory. She is loved and missed greatly by all who knew her, especially her family.
Stephanie is survived by her siblings, Katherine Marrone (Nick), Dorinda Freitas (Doug), Sabrina Vierra (John) and Melvin Freitas; her children Cortney Ketchum (Burt), Alisa Camara (Dusky), Robert Camara Jr (Ke) and their father, Robert Camara Sr. She has 8 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
VISITATION 10 A.M. ON TUESDAY, AUGUST 17, 2021 AT NUUANU MEMORIAL PARK & MORTUARY-CHAPEL OF THE FLOWERS, SERVICE 11 A.M., COMMITTAL SERVICE 1:00 P.M. AT THE NATIONAL MEMORIAL CEMETERY OF THE PACIFIC (PUNCHBOWL).
