74Nick was born in Honolulu, HI on Feb 15, 1938. The 2nd born child of Christopher T. Cleghorn and Amy Elizabeth Nickelson Cleghorn. His older sister "Babs" Faye and younger brother "Ted" Cleghorn preceded his passing, while, his youngest brother Paul resides on O'ahu.
Nick grew up between Wahiawa on O'ahu and Lana'i City, Lanai, as his father was a manager for Dole plantations. Nick moved to O'ahu and attended Punahou School his junior year graduating in 1956. He attended the University of California at Davis graduating in 1960 with a degree in Agronomy.
Nick married Carole Ackerman, who passed in 2004. They had three daughters: Anna, Denny, and Pam.
Nick loved the Lord Jesus Christ and his family. He loved golf, the ocean, travel, great food and enjoyed his career that included ranching at Kaupo, Maui, Managing at Hawaiian Equipment and being President of Honsador.
He is survived by his three daughters, two sons in-laws, six grandchildren and four great- grandchildren.
There will be a graveside service for family on August 14th at Oahu Cemetery, followed by a Memorial service at 11:30 a.m. in Kailua at One Love Windward, 1276 Kailua Rd, Family and friends are welcome.
