In Loving Memory Harold Mitsuru Nakamura
Harold, also known as Mick, Lefty and Naka, was born in Chin Chuck Village in Hakalau, Hawaii and grew up in Kaneohe. He was 92, and after a brief illness he passed away at home, peacefully in his sleep surrounded by his family. Parents were Chosuke and Nabe Nakamura. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Sophie and five children: three sons, Kyle, Brian and Gavin (Miriam); two daughters, Lori H (Albert) Higa and Caron; eight grandchildren, Sean, Jesse, Elise (Eli) Gavin Jr., Keaton, Andrew, Riley and Tori; and one great-grandson, Milan Ciel; brother, Raymond (Patricia) and many nieces and nephews. He graduated from Ben Parker High School. He served in the Korean War, was injured in combat, and awarded with the Purple Heart. He loved baseball and played from high school and thru the years with different teams to Makule League. He retired as a pipefitter at Shop 56 at Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard. He enjoyed meeting with friends for coffee at the Windward Mall. Harold and his wife were world travelers and enjoyed life to the fullest. Now he is resting in God's arms in Heaven, free from pain and suffering. He is so loved and missed by his family and friends and all who knew him. Private service was held at Hosoi Garden Mortuary and burial was at the Hawaii State Veterans Cemetery in Kaneohe.
