FAMILY PLACED OBITUARY

Lawrence Sachio Murakami
94, of Honolulu, passed away peacefully at Kalakaua Gardens on October 3, 2020. Born in Kaaawa, Oahu on March 11, 1926, he was the eldest son of Mokutaro and Fujiyo Murakami. He was predeceased by his two sisters Eleanor and Jane and brother Andrew and his son Gary Kiyoshi Murakami. He is survived by wife Ethel Teruko Murakami and two nephews and six nieces.

Affectionately remembered as "Larry" by family and friends, he retired from civilian service with the U. S. Navy at NAVAC Supply Center Pearl Harbor in 1987 after 38 years of honorable Federal service. His favorite past-times included serving as "family handyman and auto mechanic" and making regular trips to Las Vegas with Ethel and friends.

A private inurnment ceremony was held at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific on August 25, 2021.
