YOSHINOBU MIYAHIRA
YOSHINOBU MIYAHIRAYoshinobu Miyahira went to be with the Lord at 94 years of age at Hale Pulama Mau on August 2, 2021. He was born in Maui, on January 31, 1927. Yoshi was married to Ellen Tamashiro for 60 years and has two daughters, Sandra Park (Sang) and Cindy Kahumoku (Joel Warkentin). He was blessed with 6 grandchildren: Micah, Makana, Ethan, Nolan, Naomi and Keilana. Yoshi is survived by four siblings: Eleanor Yonashiro, Doris Maedo, Wallace Miyahira, and Amy Tsuhako.
Two days after graduating from Waipahu High School at 16 years old, Yoshi applied at Sears and Roebuck.He worked 43 years at Sears, eventually becoming the Shipping, Receiving and Marking Manager and later transferred to be the Assistant Warehouse Manager. He was the president of Gaza Doshikai for 2 years and also the "Member of the Year" representing the club. He was Asst. Treasurer for Takamine Club for one year. He was a member of the Moanalua Senior Club and Lanakila Okinawan Club. He attended Moanalua Gardens Missionary Church. Yoshi was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather. He enjoyed swimming, sharing jokes, watching UH sports, gardening, singing, traveling, watching his grandkids' sports games and making everyone feel valued and appreciated. He liked to share his homegrown vegetables with family and neighbors. A private service was held at Nuuanu Mortuary and Yoshi will be remembered with much love by his family and friends.
