Born in New York City, her family moved to New Jersey and Janet continued travelling whenever she could. She loved new experiences - different foods, new cultures, the inspirations of nature. She reveled in all forms of beauty - the untouched world, clothing and jewelry and pottery, and the people around her. She fought injustices and always made time for her friends. Any time she was near the ocean, she was happy. Janet enjoyed helping and teaching people, so she became a nurse and later a Professor of Nursing.
Janet was beloved by a wide range of family and friends, and will be deeply missed. Daughter of the late Helene (Rizzo) and Alfred Curley, she is survived by her sisters Jean Curley and Diane Christensen; six nieces and nephews: Nicole, Bradley, Noelle, Laura, Brandon and Brien, as well as her ex, Jonathan Sudler.
