True to his name, which means warrior with a spear, Gerald was a selfless and unwavering protector of his younger siblings and his many nieces, nephews, aunties, uncles, cousins and friends in Hawaii and around the world. Gerald's kindness and generosity were limitless: he would give the aloha shirt off his back to help someone in need.
Gerald graduated from St. Louis High School and the University of Hawaii. He loved to pass the time with sports, yardwork, naps, reading and eating, not always in that order. He had a successful career in the fabric industry, and then as a real estate broker.
Gerald married his true love, Connie, in 2008. They relocated from Hawaii to Delaware in 2016. He would say many times how happy and grateful he was to have Connie as his life partner.
Gerald was a devoted Catholic. He believed in the power of prayer. He wanted to help others and did so in many ways, including visiting the sick and elderly and delivering food to the homeless.
A Catholic funeral mass for Gerald and Connie will be offered at 12 PM EST on Monday, September 20, 2021 at The Church of The Holy Cross, 631 S. State St., Dover, DE. A live stream for loved ones out of state will be available at www.ambruso.com.
Memorial services for Gerard and Connie in Honolulu
will be arranged at a later date.
